There’s nothing like a McKenna family dinner, especially when it ends with amazing homemade desserts from our family recipe book. As a family of citrus growers, we love to include a touch of Florida Orange in our desserts. One of our favorites is Florida Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Ingredients
- 2 tsp. Florida Orange zest
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- ¾ tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 package of 12 oz. white chocolate chips
- 2 squares of 2 oz. white chocolate to melt and drizzle on top
- 2 squares of 2 oz. semi-sweet chocolate to melt and drizzle on top
Preparation
Heat oven to 325 degrees F.
Grease cookie sheets with butter or cooking spray.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix butter and sugar.
Add in egg and Florida Orange zest to butter and sugar mixture.
Place mixer on low and slowly add in remaining dry ingredients.
Stir in white chocolate chips.
Form tablespoon sized balls and place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Melt white chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate squares in microwave.
Drizzle melted white chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate over warm cookies for a sweet touch.
Package cookies up in a decorative tin for a tasty gift idea.
Try with milk to complete a traditional favorite.
